Sunday Sept 12 Ride replaced with Sat Sept 11 Ride

 

Due to the CYCOVIA event on Sunday Sept 12th the Labroquerie Ride will be cancelled but there will a replacement ride The Prairie Dog Ride on Saturday 11th. There are three options:

It is the middle of August with summer rapidly slipping into fall and I am way overdue on a club update for the web page. I hope everyone has enjoyed the summer and has gotten out on their bike.
 

2nd Annual Ciclovia

 

 
The 2nd annual Ciclovia will happen this year on September 12 in conjunction with “Lights on Broadway.” Last year was awesome and this year it is sure to be an even bigger and better event. Ride your bike along Wellington Crescent and Wolseley directly to Broadway where the event will take place without having to ride in traffic.

CLUB  BBQ POSTPONED

The Club BBQ has been postponed until Sunday, September 19th.

 

This weekend was originally slotted for the WCC BBQ but it has been decided to hold this event on SUNDAY September 19.

The WCC BBQ has been moved to Sept 19th   a replacement ride – Ile des Chenes Ride – will start at Winnipeg Rowing Club –

Bike to Work Day needs Volunteers

June 25th is Winnipeg's 3rd annual Bike to Work Day. On this day we invite and encourage Winnipeggers to ride their bikes to work, be part of their community, and be involved in the growing trend of active transportation.

Two shifts of volunteers are needed in the morning from 6:30-7:45 and from 7:45-9:00 for the following positions:

Bike to the Future has been doing spring bicycle counts for the past 4 years.  These counts are useful for a variety of purposes - to document trends in bicycle riding, to get a sense of the actual numbers of cyclists who travel along major routes in the city, and to provide before & after counts when new bicycle paths, bike lanes or other improvements are made.  Although the City of Winnipeg has also done some bicycle counts, these have been few and far between.  We are hoping this will change in the future, but in the meantime we are depending on volunteers to ca
