Safety

The Winnipeg Cycling Club is serious about safety

The WCC encourages growth in Member cycling skills and abilities by offering how-to clinics on cycling-related topics each year, and also through support and mentoring on Club rides.

All Members shall read the WCC Cyclist Responsibility Code, and should review the appropriate sections of the WCC Ride Manual. Both of these documents contain essential information for riders, and are published on the WCC website.

All Members are also encouraged to read the Manitoba Public Insurance booklet “Bike Safely.” It provides useful information for both  experienced and newer riders. For more information, visit www.mpi.mb.ca.

On Club rides, all riders shall:

  1. Wear an approved Bicycle helmet;
  2. Obey all traffic laws;
  3. Observe group ride etiquette and rules to maximize the safety of fellow riders;
  4. Follow the directions of the Ride Leader.
